Ontwikkelingspsychologie In Ontwikkelingspsychologie is gekozen voor een thematische indeling: de ontwikkelingsfasen van verschillende leeftijdsgroepen worden per onderwerp behandeld. Daarnaast staat in elk hoofdstuk een aparte tekst met een uitstapje naar een afwijkende ontwikkeling. Veelvoorkomende ontwikkelingsproblemen als ADHD en autisme komen zo ook aan bod. Het heldere taalgebruik, de fraaie illustraties en praktische elementen als casuïstiek, trefwoorden in de marges, overzichtelijke schema's en studievragen, maken het boek zeer toegankelijk. Wat is er nieuw in de zesde druk? Deze herziening is tot stand gekomen dankzij de medewerking van Marieke Beckerman, onderzoeker en expert in de ontwikkeling van het jonge kind en tevens docent pedagogiek. De hoofdstukken over taal, temperament en gehechtheid zijn grondig herzien en aangevuld met relevante en recent verkregen informatie. Actuele thema's als een hoogsensitief temperament, Nederlands als tweede taal en gehechtheid in de voor- en vroegschool komen aan bod. Over de auteurs Liesbeth van Beemen was tot 2006 praktisch werkzaam als ontwikkelingspsycholoog. Van Beemen schreef Ontwikkelingspsychologie toen zij als docent het eerstejaars onderwijs aan de universiteit Leiden verzorgde. In 2007 voltooide zij de master neuro-psychologie en was tot haar pensioen werkzaam als GZ-psycholoog in de zorg. Marieke Beckerman is onderzoeker en expert in de ontwikkeling van het jonge kind en tevens docent pedagogiek.
